Aida on Gemstone GLASS

GLASS in our case means Gemstone Linux Aida Swazoo Smalltalk !

GemStone Aida Community has now our own permanent license key, to run GLASS on 64-bit Linux, up to 1GB RAM, up to 4GB database, for free!

ToDo:

1. Upgrade GLASS Aida to5.6 and prepare for GLASS Beta release on OOP08, end of Jan08
2. http://aida.gemstone.com, running on GLASS Aida! (proposed by Monty)

GLASS 2.2.4 beta install

• download from http://glass-downloads.gemstone.com/GemStone64Bit2.2.4-x86_64.Linux.zip (100MB)
• download http://glass-downloads.gemstone.com/aida-overlay.zip (35MB)
• unpack first to ./gemstone dir and second over existing aida suubdir
• follow install-notes.txt in aida/ subdir of first .zip

Aida on GLASS

• make directory $(GEMSTONE)/aida, as is  /seaside
• put same subdirstructure in /aida
• correct all scripts
